1 hour per week. Homework will include some worksheets based on the weekly topic, and a final past paper at the end.Assessment
The assessment follows a past paper to be completed via the ABRSM website. This will be completed outside the class and serves as a way to check learning and understanding at the end of the course. The paper can be marked with answers from the ABRSM website, but you can also contact if you require any further help.Class Experience
Beginner Level
This class looks into ABRSM grade 1 music theory questions and how to answer them using past papers, preparing you for either taking the exam yourself, or deepening you music theory knowledge. Through the past paper, the questions will be broken down into both how the question should be answered, and what theory knowledge is required to do so. The sections to the course are as follows: Rhythm Pitch Keys and Scales Intervals and Tonic Triads Terms and Signs Music in context Each week will be separated into the above sections that can be paused and replayed at any time to allow you to take your time and complete any given worksheets, including a second past paper to be completed via the ABRSM website. Please also keep in mind that some videos will be longer than others. This is due to the size of each section and how much content it includes. Altogether the 6 weeks form an entire music theory course that would take multiple lessons to complete. If you have any questions after completing the past paper, or during the course, please do feel free to get in touch, as I am happy to help as much as I can. Also any feedback is appreciated.
