Beginner Clarinet Group: Learn the Clarinet!
This class teaches you how to play the clarinet, even if you have never played before, taking advantage of an encouraging and group setting.

Topics for lessons include: - How to assemble and care for the instrument - How to hold and make a good sound - How to read basic notation and rhythm - How to play the notes A to A on the clarinet Included with this is then the format of each lesson, where notes of the instrument and how to read music are learned through music given each week. Music given out is also for students to practice in their own time, with full support outside of the lessons via the classroom and direct messages. The music given out will be recapped in the next lesson, with the lesson being split into working out any problems, looking into new content, and practice time if possible. Once the basics have been learned, the aim of the lessons is to continue building up knowledge and technique of playing the clarinet, and learning music and theory, and can be altered to everyone's own pace like any instrumental lesson. There are plenty of chances for playing and performance in each lesson if desired, no pressure is made to perform :) The weekly format is as followed: 20th Jan Week 1 - How to assemble and make a good sound 27th Jan Week 2 - Notes E,D, and 'tuh' sounds 3rd Feb Week 3 - The Note C and counting 10th Feb Week 4 - The note F, Autumn Chimes 24th Feb Week 5 - Tuh sound challenge and recap 3rd March Week 6 - The notes open G and A 10th March Week 7 - Low B and A 17th March Week 8 - Questions and concert!

Supplies include a Bb clarinet, 1.5 strength clarinet reeds, cork grease and a cleaning/pull through cloth

I have been teaching woodwind for almost 10 years in a variety of different settings, including internationally, in the UK, within schools, privately and online.
My qualifications include ABRSM Grade 8 clarinet, theory, BA hons in Music and popular music, and PGCE in secondary music. As well as many years performing many genres of music.
