Class Experience
In this class I am here for the student's musical theory needs. Whether you are a beginner and want to learn the basics of music theory or you have an advanced instrument grade coming up and you need to pass grade 5 theory exam - I am here to help. Bring your brains, your books and your love to music to class and let's see what we can do. Learning to understand the theory of music can open a whole new world to those who wish to study and instrument to an advanced level. Equally it can help those just beginning their musical journey to discover the meaning behind the notes. Specifically we will looks at the different clefs, time signatures, key signatures, staves, the different lengths of notes and the extra symbols used within. I have a relaxed approach to teaching and want my students to feel comfortable with Music Theory, after all I firmly believe that music should be accessible to all. Learning Goals
To gain a general understanding of Music Theory by learning how to read music with specific emphasis on pitch, rhythm, clefs, time signatures, key signatures, staves, the different lengths of notes and the extra symbols (articulations) used within.Work towards being proficient in Grade 5 Theory for possible exams by working through the appropriate grade 5 theory syllabus.Other Details

Bachelor's Degree in Music from Brunel University
I am classically trained, but experienced in singing a variety of styles, I am a confident vocalist who has been singing since a young age. Amongst others I have sung with the Somerset Youth Choir, Bristol Opera Company and their professional touring sister company, Tessitoura, I also sang regularly with NotaBene, a Bristol based a cappella group. I have performed solos within each of these groups as well as being a featured soloist for all these groups. At university whilst studying for a Drama and Music degree, I sang the alto solo in Mozart’s requiem and took my grade 5 Music Theory and my grade 8 Singing. Reviews
