The class adopts a one-on-one format for private music theory lessons, enabling students and myself to thoroughly explore all theory aspects covered in the class, as well as delve into any specific interests students may have regarding music theory. What is my teaching style? With over 25 years of experience as a professional RCM certified private music theory and piano teacher, I approach teaching with a passion for sharing knowledge in this captivating subject. I enjoy engaging with my students and fostering a fun and relaxed atmosphere during our lessons. While maintaining productivity and goal achievement, I believe lessons should be enjoyable and stress-free. The topics covered in our lessons also prepare students for theory exams conducted by The Royal Conservatory of Music, should they choose to pursue them. However, exams are not mandatory for any of my students. My primary aim is to ignite my students' own enthusiasm for music theory. Through personalized one-on-one lessons, students and I can deeply explore their individual interests and find ways to connect the material with their unique musical aspirations. Students, if they wish, can also continue lessons with me in harmony, composition, and orchestration.
