Beginner - Intermediate Level
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

This is a 6-week Multi Day (Camp) course that will cover key/prominent Common Core standards scholars can expect to see within 7th grade math. This camp will be a great fit for scholars who are rising 7th graders and want to get a head start into learning the concepts necessary to be successful in 7th grade math. This is a also a great option for rising 8th graders who want to review standards they've already covered to ensure understanding.

Scholars can expect to learn material in an interactive way, and participation is highly encouraged as this helps me ensure they are retaining the material. Every scholar will be given the opportunity to participate in a way that's comfortable for them. Once topics are introduced, scholars can expect to have problems modeled for them, a chance for independent practice to check for understanding, and a mini Exit Ticket to reiterate important concepts from that session. Homework will be provided at the end of each session and will be reviewed together during the beginning of the next session to check for understanding and to answer any questions.

Each week, scholars will have TWO sessions. Below, please find the schedule of topics scholars will be learning/reviewing in this camp:

Week 1: Integers
Week 2: Expressions, Equations and Inequalities
Week 3: Ratios and Proportions
Week 4: Graphing
Week 5: Percentages
Week 6: Geometric Measurements

*No class will take place on July 4th, 2024*

It is the expectation that scholars have a paper and pencil (or other medium for note-taking) with them during each class. The notes taken are critical in helping during independent work, review, and preparation. To help further understanding, scholars are encouraged to complete ALL homework opportunities to help me lead them towards mastery of the concept.

*If learners require special accommodations or if there are inquiries about the support of scholars with learning differences, please message me with any and all concerns*

I hope to see your scholar in class!!

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

I'm Ms. Victoria and I am so excited you are here! I am a National Board Certified teacher with a K-12 certification for Math and both Elementary and Middle School certifications for ELA (Language Arts). My joy is providing math and reading instruction along with other interesting activities and classes for elementary and middle school scholars. I look forward to sharing these experiences with your scholar and boosting their confidence in reading and mathematics, allowing them to gain peer connections, and creating a safe space for learning!

My teaching style is interactive. I love for scholars to have an input in their learning process and to share their interests, feelings, and areas they would like to see growth in. I see first-hand the effects of learning "gaps" and seek to fill them as quickly as possible through my instruction. I enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into more manageable steps and rethinking approaches to solving problems.
