Class Experience

Ready...Set...Cook! In this fun, high energy cooking experience, aspiring chefs will create their own unique dessert using a combination of "mystery" ingredients! Similar to popular cooking competition shows such as ‘Chopped’, students will have a limited time to create a dessert that incorporates 4 unique ingredients. This class is the "Dessert Round", in which students will create a dessert. Please see my other classes for the "Entree Round."

We will start by introducing ourselves, then we will review the rules, next students will cook and present their desserts. Finally I will present awards!

How it Works:
- To preserve the mystery element of the ingredients, parents will be given a supply list of 8 items prior to class (see Supply List below). Many of these items are commonly used pantry items that you may already have.
- At the start of class, I will announce 4 of the 8 ingredients that will be used. These 4 items will be the only ingredients used.
- Students will have 30 minutes to create a unique dessert that incorporates all 4 ingredients.
- Once cooking is complete, each student will have an opportunity to present their unique dessert to the class.
- Finally, each student will be given a special award at the end of class!

Students should have basic kitchen knowledge, and any use of knives/chopping or stove cooking must be supervised by parent. Stove use is optional.

My "Entree Round" and "Dessert Round" classes both use the same ingredients, so if you enroll in both, there is no need to buy additional items.
Learning Goals
Students will practice healthy competition, while developing good sportsmanship skills and positive camaraderie.
