1 live meeting
40 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. The students might be required to finish up with their parents, depending on the recipe.Class Experience
In this ongoing class, kids will bake a different recipe every week. It will vary between cookies and different desserts. If there are any requests, feel free to message me! This class is beginner-friendly, even the most novice baker will be guided through this class! A week before class, students will be provided with a list of the ingredients needed for that week’s recipe. At the beginning of class, the students should have all of their materials ready and within reach. The kids will learn through step by step instructional PowerPoint while I help out any kids that need a little more guidance. Each slide will correspond with a step in the recipe. As we make our different recipes, we will discuss the different ingredients and methods of mixing needed. (wet/dry, folding, beating, blending, etc.) Depending on the recipe, the kids might finish up with their parents after class but most recipes will finish during class. Week 1: Chocolate chip cookies Week 2: Mud ball cookies Week 3: Pecan tarts Week 4: Cherry delight I will add to the list as we progress.
Learning Goals
The students will learn how to follow a recipe. They will gain listening and organizational skills. The students will work with me to bake a different item each week. They will also practice social skills by forming friendships within this ongoing class.
