Class Experience

Important Notes: All of my classes are inclusive. Classes are suitable for the neurodiverse child.
CEFR: B1-B2 and above.

In this wellness camp which may be taken any time (not just as a summer camp), Learner will be introduced to individualized and well-proven techniques known to cultivate, increase and support wellbeing at all levels: 1. Traditional Yoga, 2. Breathing Control Exercises & Meditation and 3. Know-How Towards Happiness.
The first class:
Traditional Yoga, will be dedicated entirely to a traditional Hatha Yoga practice to learn how to harmonize body and mind through the poses, breath, concentration, etc. Class will be a gentle and inclusive yoga to stretch mindfully, empower, relax and cultivate self-care.
The second class:
It will be divided in two 30 minutes sections each:
The first half of the class will be dedicated to mindful breathing techniques to learn how to breathe intentionally with the purpose of eliciting the relaxation response; and
The second half of the class will be an introduction to a carefully selected guided meditation (it may be Inner Silence, Loving Kindness, or other depending on needs) creating self-awareness and self-control to lead the mind towards self-understanding, acceptance, self-love, and ultimately inner peace.
The third and last class:
It will be based on Best Practices from both Eastern traditions and Western research as to what scientists have identified to be the Know-How towards Happiness. This class will include slides that cover the subject, from solid research findings, to actual practices of exercises to keep the mind positive.
Throughout these classes, teaching style will be inclusive, kind, and mindful of the Learner's needs, honoring the person where he or she is at the present moment. Class is interactive and practice based. Depending on Learner's interaction and engagement class may run a bit longer. Parent may want to allow for additional time to accommodate Learner.
No previous experience is needed, and no physical flexibility is required.
