In this 4-week class, beginner French students learn colors, foods, animals and more with songs! French students will watch themed Youtube videos in French, learn the vocabulary and participate in a discussion surrounding that theme.

Beginner Level
For this 4-week French class, beginner students will meet for an interactive and fun Youtube video, accompanying vocabulary and speaking practice. **No previous French study is necessary. Although, students who have taken French classes before are welcome because we will learn lots of varied vocabulary. We will learn the vocabulary in the song ie- a deer, shaking hands, a pizza, white, black, mushrooms etc. and practice asking and answering questions about it. The four weeks are chosen...
Students will develop and improve their French vocabulary on a variety of topics. Students will use listening comprehension skills and work on strategies for understanding spoken and sung French. Students will be able to talk about themselves and their preferences. Students will be able to ask other classmates about their preferences.
I have taught a weekly "video vendredi" series in my 7th and 8th grade French classes for 10 years. I have incorporated listening practice and conversational speaking into my classroom with 12-14 year olds.
No reading is required.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
All (1-3 minute) videos are found on "safe Youtube" searches, all are appropriate for children of this level.
