US Grade 4 - 6
In this one-time class, students will explore English idioms or idiomatic expressions about animals. Prior to class, students will be given a PDF and notesheet to take notes and answer questions throughout class. Students will be asked to participate by reading from a Google slide presentation while taking notes at home! We will talk about 12 idioms that are commonly used in English such as "cat got your tongue" and "open a can of worms". Students will learn what situations would apply to each idiom and practicing choosing the right one! After we have taken notes and answered questions on paper, we will play a Kahoot game to test our knowledge. This class is appropriate for kids ages 9-12 who's native language is English and also English language learners!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify and describe 12 animal-themed idiomatic expressions in English.

Parental Guidance
No accounts or sign-ins are required. I will be sharing my screen for the Google slide show.
**Students will be given a direct link to the kahoot game (they can enter it into a browser, click a link or scan the QR code with a tablet) but they will not need to sign in or have an account to play!
Supply List
Students will be sent a 2 page PDF to take notes and answer 2 sets of multiple choice questions during class (optional).

Hi! My name is Megan and I'm a mom, a teacher, and a world traveler! I love learning languages and discovering new cultures, having lived in the US, France, Belgium and Ecuador.
