Learning this course as a new language will help students to develop communication skills. This is a course for students with not previous knowledge in French. Students will learn important basic vocabulary to get a good foundation in the French Language. PowerPoint presentation, videos, songs, props and creative activities will be used in this class. Students will have assignments to study what they learn in class. Students will learn how to pronounce the Alphabet. The pronunciation of the French sounds will be practiced in class (Semivoyelle, nasale). Students will learn how to greet people in different ways (formal and informal).They will learn to introduce themselves and ask others for their names. Students will use the appropriate phrase to say how they feel. They will be able to repeat sounds and words accurately. They will say goodbye in a variety of ways (formal and informal). They will be able to ask someone's else age. Students will also be able to say how old they are. Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of instructions in French.Students will express their likes and dislikes (food and actions). Students will understand and join in with a story, recognise and repeat key vocabulary in a story. They will also name different colours in French. Students will learn to use simple conjunctions to use vocabulary for clothes and accessories. They will recognise masculine and feminine clothing nouns and will ask what is in the wardrobe. Students will also say what they are wearing. Students will be able to have a simple conversation about clothes. Lesson 1: Hello! What’s your name? - Different ways to greet, ask for their names Lesson 2: The Alphabet. Students will pronounce the alphabet in French Make a Vocabulary banner about basic vocabulary in French. Lesson 3: French sounds (Semivoyelle, nasale). Goodbye!- Different ways to say bye. French sound pronunciation. Lesson 4:Numbers 0-10. How old are you?-Pronunciation. Asking and answer. Lesson 5: Consonants. Numbers 10-20. Make a banner to display the numbers in French at home. Lesson 6: Classroom Instructions and Review (Lesson 1-5), Students will need to record a video using puppets acting out a short conversation in French saying hi, bye, asking names, age. Students will use the vocabulary studied from unit 1-6. Lesson 7: My body-Vocabulary, song. Lesson 8: Colours-Vocabulary, Totem pole craft(label the colours in French) Lesson 9: I like, I dislike. Verbs vocabulary, food vocabulary. Lesson 10: Reading comprehension "Le Chien Tres Gourmand"; food vocabulary. Lesson 11: Clothes 1-Vocabulary Lesson 12: What are you wearing? -Vocabulary, Review

¡Hola a todos! Bonjour tout le monde! Hello everyone!
I am multilingual, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Language Teacher Education and an Early Childhood Education Diploma. I speak Spanish, French, and English. I have also attended the following workshops/trainings in Canada: Science of Early Childhood Development-Play, Science of Early Childhood Development-Language and Literacy, Science of Early Childhood Development-Introductory Level, Transition Planning Intermediate Level, and Adult Education-Intermediate level. I have been teaching French and Spanish languages for over eight years. My students range from toddlers to adults. I have lived and worked in France and Mexico. Currently, I live in Canada.
I offer the following skills: Ability to engage students from a wide range of backgrounds, interactive lesson plans, good interpersonal skills and a passion for languages. I am an active listener and team player. I like to do crafting and science experiments with my family. I also enjoy learning to cook different kind of dishes, lately I have made Asian dishes such as brown rice and eggplant. I like travelling and I have learnt the culture of the languages that I teach where the languages that I speak are the mother tongues.
