Students will be informally assessed through questioning. I would also be happy to share student's understanding of level 1 grammar topics with a parent after the class to assess if further practice is needed.Class Experience
**Students must have at least 1 year of prior French study in order to take this class. ***This class is taught in English, I will explain structures and grammar in English while we are playing. This review style class will test your student's knowledge about level 1 French grammar and structures. I will go through some basic expectations for novice low-mid French language learners. We will discuss and review topics such as: -adjective agreement and order, verb conjugations of être, avoir and -er verbs, practice describing yourself and others, using articles with objects. Through questioning and explanations, students will gain confidence in a fun and interactive way! In this small group, students will have a chance to feel comfortable starting speaking in the target language again and they will also have the opportunity to ask specific questions about topics they feel they've struggled with in the past.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of use of articles in French.
Students will be able to present basic information about themselves and their families in French.
Students can identify differences between French and English in regards to adjective order and agreement.
Students can speak about what they and others are doing by conjugating the verbs être, avoir and -er verbs.Other Details

Hi! My name is Megan and I'm a mom, a teacher, and a world traveler! I love learning languages and discovering new cultures, having lived in the US, France, Belgium and Ecuador. I have a passion for teaching and connecting with kids. I have been teaching French at all levels for over 12 years. I'm a native English speaker from New York who truly enjoys helping French language learners understand this complicated language in easy to understand and fun ways! I try engaging learners with new technology, music, videos and games whenever possible. My style is warm, welcoming and allows for students to take risks with new languages in a safe space. I have a B.A in French, Spanish and Education and a M.A in French, Language Literature & Culture. I also hold an advanced certificate in TESOL. I've been a certified teacher in the United States for over 10 years and have taught in public schools for most of my career.
