Class Experience
This class will be 1-t0-1 so I can assist learners individually as they bake along with me. We will begin class by discussing ingredients and preheating our ovens. Students will learn to accurately measure and mix. When the cookie dough is thoroughly mixed, we will form the cookie dough into balls. I will demonstrate the way I make depressions in the dough and discuss alternative ways to accomplish this. I will demonstrate my method of filling the cookies with jam and invite the students to try this method. While the cookies chill and bake, I will teach the learners to make the icing. I will demonstrate my method of icing the cookies, and when their cookies are baked and cool, the students will ice their own. The final steps of baking and icing the cookies may occur following class.

These cookies contain almond extract, butter, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, corn starch, and flour. Please be aware of possible allergens.
Adult supervision will be needed as an electric mixer and an oven will be used, and the adults physically supervising will assure safety for their learners. Adults will need to stay off-camera as per Outschool policy.

Ingredients: ❖Butter ❖Granulated Sugar ❖Almond Extract ❖Corn Starch ❖Raspberry Jam ❖Powdered Sugar ❖Flour Equipment: ❖Electric Mixer ❖Mixing Bowl ❖Prep Bowl (approximately 2 cup size, or any small bowl) ❖Measuring Cups (1 cup and 2/3 cup) ❖Measuring Spoons (1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon) ❖Teaspoon or cookie scoop ❖2 baking sheets or cookie sheets ❖2 Ziploc sandwich bags ❖Rubber Spatula ❖ 2 Potholders ❖Scissors ❖Cup or Mug ❖Pestle (optional)
