My excitement about American symbols began with travels to Washington, DC. I loved stepping onto the exact spot Martin Luther King Jr. stood for his iconic I Have a Dream speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Walking through the White House thrilled me as I imagined the historic individuals who had walked its halls. I have enthusiastically taught many learners about Washington, DC through books, music, and plays. I'm so excited to share my knowledge and experience with Outschool students! I am a teacher certified to teach elementary grades 1-6 and deaf/HH students pre-K-12. I worked as an educational interpreter for several years and as an elementary teacher for many years. My education and work history have provided the skills to teach American Sign Language and all core subjects to learners on Outschool.
