ASL for Advanced Part 7 is an exciting and interactive class for students who want to continue learning American Sign Language! 

The students will be emerged into the language by learning, translating and practicing weekly which will greatly help increase their fluency in the language. The course will be very engaging by using PowerPoint slides, pictures, props, and animations to demonstrate and teach new vocabulary to the students. Although the course will be silent, it will be very easy for the students to follow along through the teaching style and communication tools used in class.

Week 1: Course overview, Review, and Communication
Week 2: Career and Life Essentials
Week 3: Mail Services and Commercial
Week 4: School Topics
Week 5: Military and History
Week 6: Home Essentials
Week 7: Stores and Restaurants
Week 8: Character Traits
Week 9: Conversational Signs
Week 10: Government and Law

During this course, the students will learn several hundred new vocabulary signs, increase their fluency with conversational skills, advance their ASL grammar, emerge themselves in Deaf culture and signing, and expand their fluency. 

Our weekly video will be posted on Sunday of each week. Each Friday we will have discussion questions and challenges for the students to participate in. Each student is encouraged to create videos of themselves signing each week so I can watch their progress and help as needed. This will help the children learn to recognize signs as well as use ASL! We will also learn through activities, stories, demonstration, and lots of practice! 

This course will be tons of fun!!! 

If your student already knows 2,000 signs (or more) and is familiar ASL grammar and classifiers, or has taken my previous courses Part 1 through Part 6, then this is the class for them! If not, then Part 1 will be a good starting point, this course is called: Learn to Sign in 10 Classes. You may also message me to discuss finding the correct placement for your student if they have previous ASL knowledge.
