Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the ASL alphabet, how to sign their names, how to sign numbers, how to sign the days of the week as well as learn signs for themes we have each week.
I have 3 years experience providing ASL interpretation in the school setting. I have been studying ASL for 10 years and attended a 4 year post graduate Interpreter Training program and graduated with my certificate for ASL Interpreter Training. I have volunteered and worked at several deaf events, school for the deaf events throughout my Interpreter Training. I have run a signing group with young learners at a learning center.
No homework will be assigned. There will be an option that students can prepare to bring an item that goes along with the theme. For example; week one students are welcomed to bring something with their favorite color and share it with the class. This way students will have the opportunity to share something about themselves and will also learn the signs for some of their favorite things. ASL online games can be played outside of the class as an option as well as practicing signs we learn. I will post references that can be used at any time to follow up with what we learned in the class.
 1 file available upon enrollment
Optional print outs- will also be available over the screen
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
We will have time to practice signs together , No assessments
45 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
