In this ongoing class students will learn basic vocabulary of American Sign Language, ASL. They will learn the ASL Alphabet, how to sign their names, numbers and the days of the week. We will practice that together in the beginning of each class. ASL vocabulary will be introduced with games; we will play ASL memory games. We will also watch ASL videos and have ASL story times. There will be a theme each week and we will learn vocabulary words that go along with that theme. "SHARE AND SIGN": Students will have the opportunity to bring something if they would like to share with the group that goes along with the theme and we will learn the sign for the item that they share.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the ASL alphabet, how to sign their names, how to sign numbers, how to sign the days of the week as well as learn signs for themes we have each week.

I have 3 years experience providing ASL interpretation in the school setting. I have been studying ASL for 10 years and attended a 4 year post graduate Interpreter Training program and graduated with my certificate for ASL Interpreter Training. I have volunteered and worked at several deaf events, school for the deaf events throughout my Interpreter Training. I have run a signing group with young learners at a learning center.
