Class Experience

ASL for beginners is an exciting and interactive class for children who want to learn Sign Language!

During this course children will learn the following signs:

- Adjectives
- Personal Qualities
- Story Telling
- Plural Quantifiers
- Verbs and Temporal Inflection
- Meals and Desserts
- Numbers 101-1,000,000,000
- Time Concepts
- Introductions and Farewells
- Word Pairing
- Cooking Methods
- Past Tense
- Textures
- The students will also work on conversational skills, grammar, classifiers, and translation practice.

This course will be tons of fun!!!

If your student already knows 300 signs or more and is familiar with ASL grammar and classifiers, or has taken my previous course, then this is the class for them! If not, then part 1, 2, or 3 may be a better fit for them. Learn to Sign in 5 Weeks will be your first step. I am looking forward to learning, laughing, and signing with your children soon!!

Class policy: Each student must have a camera on during this so that I can help them with the correct hand-forms and locations, this is an essential part of learning in this course. Student's will also be engaging and practicing their ASL signs with conversations and their hands must be seen for this. If the student does not want their face seen, they may angle the camera to only show their hands.

I have been fluent in ASL for 10 years and have been a translator for many events and conferences. I have also taught ASL to students ages 4-20 in many courses over the years. I teach grammar, classifiers, vocabulary, and translations. I have my double certificate in ASL from International Open Academy and am heavily involved in the Deaf community in my area. I love teaching ASL! I am excited to expand my knowledge to your children through this course!
