I will provide quizzes, class assignments, a midterm, final exam, class certificates, and a final grade. The grade will be based off of an accumulation of quiz, test, and assignments results, as well as class participation. Final grades will be based off of 40% test results, 25% quiz results, 25% assignments, and 10% class attendance and participation.Grading

ASL Level 2 is an exciting and interactive class for beginner students who want to learn American Sign Language at a high school level! This course is for student's who have completed ASL Level 1, ASL for Beginners Part 1 and Part 2, or has had a minimum of 1 year of ASL studies from another course. Our course schedule includes: Week 1: Sports Week 2: School Subjects Week 3: Nature Week 4: Outer Space Week 5: Geography Week 6: Household Chores and Activities Week 7: Shopping Week 8: Technology and Entertainment Week 9: Jobs Week 10: Midterm Week 11: Adjectives Week 12: Personal Qualities Week 13: Story telling and folklores Week 14: Verbs and Temporal Inflection Week 15: Meals and Desserts Week 16: Advanced Time Concepts Week 17: Cooking Methods Week 18: Introductions and Farewells Week 19: Paired Words Week 20: Final Exam During this course, the students will learn several hundred new vocabulary signs, increase their fluency with conversational skills, advance their ASL grammar, emerge themselves in Deaf culture and signing, and expand their fluency. We will learn through activities, demonstration, and lots of practice! We will also continue to advance grammar skills and classifier practice. I will provide quizzes, class assignments, a midterm, final exam, class certificates, and a final grade. The grade will be based off of an accumulation of quiz, test, and assignments results, as well as class participation. We will be covering vocabulary, grammar, conversational skills, and Deaf culture during each lesson. This course will be tons of fun!! The students will also be asked to complete three ASL class assignments throughout the school year. These include Alphabet and Number Stories, Poetry or Story, and Deaf History, details of these projects will be presented in the class syllabus and the students will be given specific instructions in class. These assignments are really fun and will expand your students ASL skills. Students need to have completed a minimum of 1 year of ASL before enrolling in this course. Class policy: Each student must have a camera on during this so that I can help them with the correct hand-forms and locations, this is an essential part of learning in this course. Student's will also be engaging and practicing their ASL signs with conversations and their hands must be seen for this. If the student does not want their face seen, they may angle the camera to only show their hands.

Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students will be required to have their cameras on for each lesson. This will allow the students to see each other’s hands while signing. Tests will be done through online Google Forms. I will also have the students watch a video on Deaf history through a YouTube link. Having access to a printer is important for the Deaf Culture assignment.
Supply List
Students will need access to a printer for two of the assignments, paper, pencils, access to a device that they can record themselves (phone, tablet, or laptop, etc.).
