Class Experience
In this private ongoing class learners of all ages are welcomed to meet 1:1 to learn and practice American Sign Language! It will be individualized to the learner. If you are starting to learn American Sign Language we will have a signing theme each week and learn the basics. If you know some American Sign Language we will talk about what you want to learn and the class will include the next step vocabulary in learning more of the language. We will have signing themes that fit with the vocabulary I am teaching . Here is an example of the private class break down . Week 1- We will have time for introductions.We will learn or practice Introducing ourselves in American Sign Language. Why do you want to learn American Sign Language? What do you want to learn? We will practice the ASL alphabet , practice signing your name, practice numbers, days of the week and weather. The signing theme is Colors. Week 2- We will practice the ASL alphabet, signing your name, practice numbers , days of the week and weather. The signing theme is Feelings. Week 3- We will practice the ASL alphabet, signing your name, practice numbers, days of the week and weather. The signing theme is Food and drink. Week 4- We will practice the ASL alphabet, signing your name, practice numbers, days of the week and weather. The signing theme is Animals. Week 5- We will practice the ASL alphabet, signing your name, practice numbers, days of the week and weather.The signing theme is “Family and Friends. Week 6- We will practice the ASL alphabet, signing your name, practice numbers , days of the week and weather. The signing theme is Playing outside / Sports and Hobbies. Week 7- We will practice the ASL alphabet, signing your name, practice numbers, days of the week and the weather. The signing theme is People and Places. Week 8- We will practice the ASL alphabet, signing your name, practice numbers, days of the week and weather. The signing theme is All about me.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I attended college at Towson University and received my Bachelors in Science for Speech Pathology. During my education I took several
American Sign Language and Deaf Education courses and became very interested in learning more American Sign Language. I attended a 4 year post graduate program at Rowan College and received my certificate for ASL Interpreting Training. I have 3 years experience as an educational interpreter and instructed an ASL program at an early childcare center for a year.
