The students will work on grammar and writing skills. We will concentrate on parts of speech including nouns, verbs, pronouns, adjectives, and adverbs. In writing, we will concentrate on writing paragraphs, opinion pieces, persuasive essays, how-to writing, and informational writing. If requested we can work on several math skills such as adding, subtracting, telling time, money, multiplication, geometry, patterns and much more. Students will be taught using discussion, lecture, hands-on activities, games, songs, graphic organizers and worksheets. This class will be catered to the needs of the students. Some other areas of study that could be taught include: Math-place value, measurement and data, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction, geometry, story problems, multi-step problems, fractions Writing-paragraphs, opinion essays, how-to paragraphs, informational writing, persuasive writing Reading-vocabulary, comprehension skills, phonics, spelling, reading fiction and nonfiction texts Science-weather, life cycles, solar system, energy, rocks and minerals Social Studies-history, government, economics, geography

Parental Guidance
We will use Nearpod, Google slides, and Canva for slide shows while teaching.
In addition, students will participate in games and activities on Room Recess and Mr. Nussbaum.
Occasionally, we will include some songs and brief videos from YouTube.

Hi, friends! Welcome to my class! My courses are in all elementary academic areas along with some crafting classes. I love teaching! I come to you with 20 years of teaching experience and have taught all subjects in grades PK-4. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education from Ball State University. I hold an Ohio Teaching License in grades Pre-K through 5. I truly believe that everyone is gifted in some way, so I try to find the strengths in my students to assist in learning new material. It is my goal to make learning easy and fun. Currently, I live in Ohio and spend my days at home with my two children. My husband teaches high school World History and coaches golf. I enjoy crocheting, scrapbooking, golfing, and using my Cricut to make unique gifts.
