Beginner Level
Embark on a creative journey through the colorful realm of crochet in this 4-week course! . This course is designed to guide beginners through the fundamental tools and stitches as well as foster a love for the art of crochet. Each week there will be skills videos with crochet tips and tricks for students to watch and practice. Websites and blogs with free and paid patterns will be shared so you can find the perfect pattern or just some inspiration. Join me on this colorful yarn journey and learn the lifelong skill of crocheting. 

***I am a right-handed crocheter so some left-handed students might find it difficult to follow along since they will be working in the opposite direction.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their skill level in crochet. The possibilities are endless when it comes to crochet. Goals for this class include the slipknot, chain, single crochet, turning chain, rows, and weaving in the ends.

Syllabus

7 Lessons
over 4 Weeks
Lesson 1:
Introduction
 Week 1 kicks off with an exploration of crochet essentials. Students will acquaint themselves with yarns, hooks, and other tools that lay the foundation for their crochet adventure. Students will be introduced to all of the wonderful projects they can make when they learn to crochet.

Lesson 2:
Slipknot
 Students will learn several different ways to make a slipknot. Please have your yarn ready so that you can follow along. 
Lesson 3:
How to Hold the Yarn
 There are several ways you can hold your yarn when you crochet. Students will learn the different ways and try to decide which way works best for them. You will need a hook and some yarn for this lesson. 
Lesson 4:
Chaining
 Chaining is used to begin most projects, so it is a really important skill to master. Please have your hook and yarn ready to go!

Parental Guidance
Students will be using scissors to cut yarn. Please make sure your learner knows how to safely use scissors.
Supply List
Students will need hooks (I/5.5mm or J/6mm), yarn (bulky 5 weight or worsted 4 weight), yarn needle, stitch markers, and scissors.
