❤️Class Experience:
In this dynamic English Language Arts class for 3rd-5th grade students, your child will strengthen their reading, writing, and language skills in a supportive, interactive environment. My goal is to create an engaging learning space where each student feels confident and excited about learning English Language Arts!

❤️What Will Be Taught?
❤️Reading Comprehension: Students will work on strategies to better understand and analyze texts. We'll explore both fiction and nonfiction, focusing on identifying main ideas, supporting details, themes, and character development.
❤️Creative Writing: Students will practice writing clear, organized, and creative pieces. They'll learn how to brainstorm ideas, structure a story, and revise their work. Topics include short stories, poetry, and descriptive writing.
❤️Grammar and Vocabulary: Through fun activities and games, students will improve their grammar, punctuation, and word usage. We'll focus on sentence structure, parts of speech, and expanding their vocabulary to help them become more effective writers and speakers.
❤️Discussion and Critical Thinking: We will also have group discussions on various topics, allowing students to practice speaking clearly, listening actively, and thinking critically about what they read and hear.
❤️What Topics Will We Cover?
Understanding story elements like setting, characters, and plot
Summarizing main ideas and finding supporting details
Writing in different genres: narrative, descriptive, and persuasive
Using figurative language (similes, metaphors, idioms)
Parts of speech: nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions
Sentence types and structure
Vocabulary-building through reading and games
❤️How is the Class Structured?
Each class is designed to be fun, engaging, and interactive. We will start with a brief warm-up activity to get students thinking and ready to participate. The class is divided into several segments:

❤️Introduction & Overview (5-10 minutes): I'll introduce the topic for the session and explain what we’ll be learning.
❤️Main Lesson (15-20 minutes): This is where we dive into reading, writing, or grammar. I’ll use a combination of direct instruction, examples, and interactive activities to keep students engaged.
❤️Interactive Activities & Discussion (10-15 minutes): This portion allows for student participation through games, quizzes, or group discussions, depending on the topic.
❤️Wrap-Up & Reflection (5-10 minutes): We’ll close with a quick review and an opportunity for students to ask questions or share what they learned.
❤️How Will I Teach?
I use a variety of teaching methods to keep each student engaged and ensure they get the most out of each class. Here’s how I approach learning:

❤️Interactive Lessons: I focus on active participation, so students will be encouraged to contribute throughout the class through discussions, questions, and answering prompts.
❤️Visuals & Multimedia: I’ll use slides, visuals, and sometimes video clips to break down concepts in fun, digestible ways. This is especially helpful for understanding story elements, grammar rules, and new vocabulary.
❤️Games & Quizzes: Learning should be fun! I incorporate word games, grammar challenges, and interactive quizzes that make practicing English enjoyable and engaging.
❤️Small Group or One-on-One Time: In some classes, we will break into small groups or have individual “talk time” to ensure each student gets personal attention.
❤️What's My Teaching Style?
I believe in creating a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere where every student feels heard, respected, and confident. My style is:

❤️Supportive & Patient: I ensure that every student feels comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.
❤️Engaging & Fun: I use humor and creativity to make learning enjoyable and to help students connect with the material in a way that’s memorable.
❤️Collaborative: I love encouraging peer-to-peer learning, where students share ideas and help each other understand concepts.
❤️Hands-On & Practical: Rather than just lectures, I prefer to incorporate activities, discussions, and projects that let students apply what they’ve learned.
How Much Will Learners Interact?
Interaction is a key part of every class! Here’s how your child will actively engage:

❤️Discussions & Q&A: Students will have opportunities to share their thoughts, ask questions, and respond to prompts during each class.
❤️Games & Activities: I use fun games and quizzes to review key concepts, such as vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension. This can include things like “grammar bingo,” word search races, or group story-building activities.
❤️Collaborative Projects: Some sessions might include collaborative group activities, where students work together to write stories or solve problems.
❤️Feedback: I provide individual feedback to each student during class, especially during writing exercises or when they answer questions. If a student needs extra help, I’ll offer one-on-one guidance to ensure they feel confident in their progress.
Additional Details:
❤️Materials: All necessary materials (worksheets, reading passages, etc.) will be provided ahead of each class. Students will need paper and a pen/pencil for in-class activities.
❤️Class Length: For longer classes (60 minutes or more), the class will have more structured time for independent work, group collaboration, and extended discussions.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been teaching English Language Arts in a public school setting since 2017, where I have worked with students in 3rd through 5th grade (Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grade as well) . During my time in the classroom, I’ve had the opportunity to teach a wide range of reading, writing, grammar, and language arts concepts to students with diverse learning styles and needs. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how to tailor lessons to meet students where they are, helping them build strong foundational skills in reading and writing.

In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have consistently integrated creative and interactive teaching strategies, including group discussions, peer review, and hands-on activities, to engage students in a meaningful way. I have taught students with different levels of proficiency in language arts, from beginners to advanced learners, and have helped them improve not only their academic skills but also their confidence as communicators.

I have also had the privilege of working with students in small groups, providing one-on-one support for students who need extra help in areas such as reading comprehension, writing fluency, and grammar. This experience has taught me how to foster a supportive and patient environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing as learners.
