Hi, I'm Teresa! I have been a professional artist and educator for over 15 years. I spend my days in my woodworking studio creating art or teaching others how to do the same. I am moving into a new art studio in August and will be teaching less than usual until around October.

The classes I teach are primarily focused on 3D art and handcraft that you can do with materials from home, including papier mâché, basket-making, paper craft, sculpting clay, and collage. My previous experience in teaching includes several years teaching foundational art classes to college students, art workshops for 4th graders through an art museum in Wisconsin, and woodshop classes for women in Minnesota. Currently I teach art classes to youth ages 4-18, at the local library, work as a substitute art teacher in the public school district, and teach workshops to kids and adults at craft centers around the country.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Furniture Design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Certificate in Japanese Woodworking from the Mount Fuji School of Fine Woodworking, and am currently working towards my certification in K-12 education in the state of Pennsylvania.

The most important rule of my classroom is to have fun! I am an energetic, passionate, and silly person and I teach with authenticity. I expect my students to be engaged, try their best, and have pride in their work.

Fun Fact: I have a pet betta fish named Tilda and a pet snail named Steven! I often draw Tilda and Steven having adventures together out in the world.
