Turn an ordinary bar of soap into an exciting sculpture in this one-time workshop! Students will choose between provided designs or draw their own, then transfer their drawings to the soap using s pencil. Using a paper clip, popsicle stick, or plastic spoon, students will carve the soap to create their sculpture. We will learn about how to translate ideas from 2D drawings into accurate-looking 3D objects. I will show examples of carved objects made from soap, wood, stone, and other materials. The process is so much fun – you’re going to love it!
Learning Goals
Students will explore new materials and learn to carve soap, which mimics carving wood or stone.
