In this ongoing class, we complete a new arts and crafts activity every week using materials you probably already have in your home!
Class experience
In this ongoing class, learners will meet once a week to create a teacher-directed seasonal craft. Materials will typically be items you already have in your home, but the supply list will always be listed a few weeks in advance. Learners will be shown step by step how to complete each craft. Students will have opportunities to practice cutting skills, pre-writing skills (tracing / coloring), and following directions. If time allows, the class will include an activity related to our craft....
Students will practice cutting skills, pre-writing skills (tracing / coloring), and following directions while making a fun seasonal craft.
Week of April 28: Flower • Empty egg carton (NOT foam or plastic). Please cut out a 2x2 section. • Straw • 1 pom pom for the middle of the flower • Paint (choose 3-4 colors) • Paintbrush • Paint pallet or paper plate to put paint on • Hot glue gun Week of May 5: Ladybug Mother’s Day Card • Red paper • Black paper • White paper • Black marker • Markers or crayons • Scissors • Glue Week of May 12: Alien • Black paper • Grey paper (or dark blue if you don’t have grey) • White paper • Yellow paper • White crayon • Green paint • Paintbrush • Washcloth or paper towels (we will be painting our hand) • Googly eyes • Glue • Scissors • Pencil Week of May 19: Silhouette Sunset • White paper (art paper or cardstock is best) • Water color paints (or a few colors of regular paint watered down in cups) • Paint brush • Cup of water • Black paper • Pencil • Scissors • Glue stick Future week's crafts are to be determined.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
