Class Experience

I love to design and make hand-crafted, art pieces to enjoy myself or to share with friends and family! In this class, you get to create beautiful works of art, and also make new friends in a safe environment conducive to both creativity and communication. You will create a variety of one-of-a-kind pieces that you and/or your recipient will love! In this course, we will explore various arts and crafts projects, such as: painting, tie dying, and origami, just to name a few. We will sit together, craft our pieces and have an opportunity to get to know one another through friendly communication. Since I am also a Drama instructor, I will be able to help you communicate with your peers. It will be a lot of fun and you will end up with incredible pieces, and hopefully will have begun to create new friendships, as well!

The upcoming projects in this course will consist of:

1. An acrylic, mid-century modern art painting with geometric shapes and leaves.
2. A ombre'-colored wreath using paint chips or some other paper.
3. Painted candles. Perfect for gift giving.

A supply list will be provided below for the first project. I will then send out weekly supply lists needed for each class. But the main things you will need are your imagination, enthusiasm, communication and love of learning! Looking forward to working with you!
Learning Goals

California Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
Hello! My name is Danielle Brown and I have been teaching dance and drama for 41 years!

I have taught in day care centers, dance studios, brick and mortar schools and theatres. Currently, I teach drama and dance in high school and have been for 19 years. For my school I not only teach, but I direct our Spring musicals and choreograph for our Liturgical movers.

I have also worked as a director, choreographer and teacher for teen theatre companies and workshops in Southern California. I hold a BA in Theatre and have studied dance throughout studios in Los Angeles. I am also a performer and have performed in plays and musicals both in school and regionally.

I love teaching in the arts as I was "bitten by the bug" at a young age, enjoying learning and performing since the age of 14. I want to share this passion with your children and provide them with experiences they will remember for a lifetime!

One of my favorite experiences was training in Summer at the Teenage Drama Workshop at California State University, Northridge. It was there I learned my craft and also created wonderful memories! I hope you will create wonderful memories, too!

I teach story time classes that include pre-ballet for younger ones, as well as, more advanced acting training for youth and teens. These classes include: improvisation and theatre games. I also teach classes in choreography for teens. Additionally, I teach arts and crafts classes!

Come join me and have FUN creating ART!!!!!
