Please check the syllabus for a detailed weekly schedule. This is a self-paced course that students can take on their own time. Videos and lessons are pre-recorded by myself, which include short YouTube clips covering weekly topics, shared PDF files, and walk-throughs of journal pages and exercises. Anxiety can be scary! Especially if you don't know what is really happening on the inside. This course aims to explain what anxiety is, how it affects our brains, and what we can do to fight back. Gaining a sense of control over anxiety is one of the biggest tools I can provide for students and I hope this class is found to be helpful for them! Skills that will be covered: Sliding scale scoring The 4 four parts of the brain that are affected The 4 F's (Fight, flight, freeze, fawn, and identifying which one we are). Lesson One
Navy Seal Box Breathing Method - Five Finger Breathing - Emergency brake breath - 3 Parts of the brain affected by anxiety (Frontal lobe, limbic system, and brain stem). Covering the 4 F's (Fight, flight, freeze, and fawn) and helping students identify which one they are. How to score our sliding scale. Weekly "Be, Think, Act" prompt card.

Lección 2:
Lesson Two
The 4th part of the brain that is affected by anxiety (the amygdala). Circle of control practice and how to establish healthy boundaries. We will cover the difference between a request statement and a boundary statement. I will also illustrate a "stress bucket" and how we pour from it. Weekly "Be, Think, Act" prompt card.
Lección 3:
Lesson Three
This class will cover the 6 areas of wellness. A wellness wheel PDF for students to fill out will be provided. Maintaining a good balance helps reduce stress and therefore leads to fewer symptoms of anxiety. Weekly "Be, Think, Act" prompt card.

Lesson Four
Coping mechanisms for anxiety. This class covers the 5-4-3-2-1 method, the peripheral vision game, and the vagus nerve. Test-taking tips and tricks to calm anxiety. Journal page provided. Weekly "Be, Think, Act" prompt card.

YouTube is used during the videos for a fun cartoon way of covering some of the more boring or challenging topics such as the brain functions. PDF printouts are provided to enhance the interactive feeling of the class and provide further resources.
Journal pages are provided to students but students are not asked to share the content of the journal pages.
