Once cleared by their Physician to engage in the physical practice of Yoga,

This is a unique and individualized class, ideal to introduce learners to what is Yoga?

In the first part of the class, Learner will be introduced to the cradle of Yoga, learn of its origins in India, the different types of Yoga, its evolution from India through Europe and the U.S., and of the many areas of human pursuit impacted by yogic principles: Poetry, Politics, Music, Philanthropy, Environment, Health Sciences, and more. This class falls under Social Studies as part of its focus is the impact of Yoga on world humanities, encompassing the individual and society.

The class is structured as an interactive presentation.

The second part of the class will engage the student not only with the theory, but will culminate with an individualized yogic practice including poses, a breathing exercise and a mini meditation, to bring it all together.

My teaching style is student centered. For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, I require open mics and video in my classes so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material.

Learning Outcome will be a thorough understanding of what is Yoga, its impact on western culture, and how it can help create a chest of personalized life and stress management skills.

There is no requirement for this class.
