Note: Grown up assistance may be needed off camera for the experiment portion of the class if your learner is not yet skilled in pouring. Introductions: We will begin the class by introducing ourselves to our fellow scientists. Discussion: What is water? What do you know about water? How do we use water? What is cohesion? What does adherence mean? Learners will brainstorm the answers to these questions while also having the opportunity to ask their own questions. Experiment Set Up:...
Learners will be introduced to new scientific vocabulary such as cohesion and adherence. Learners will gain a better understanding of water cohesion and the properties of water.
Required Materials: 2 plastic cups Tape (any kind should work) Water Absorbent twine or string such as yarn (must be thicker than thread and needs to be at least 12 inches in length) Scissors Food coloring of your choice (optional but a fun way to see the water better) Tray to catch any spills
