US Grade 3 - 5
Beginner Level
In this one time class, the kids will learn about the science of thunderstorms. I like to use visual graphics such as slideshows and videos so that the kids are able to see the science concepts they are learning in our class. I like to ask questions to start class discussions, and I encourage the kids to ask questions and share any knowledge they have about the science concepts in our class because that's how we learn. In class, the kids will learn: how thunderstorms form, about cold fronts, and warm fronts, and the different types of thunderstorms. PDFs of a blank map of the United States, a Thunderstorms worksheet, and a Type of Thunderstorms worksheet are in the classroom and can be printed for class. The kids will also need a pencil with an eraser and colored pencils.
