Description

Class Experience

In this six-week course, beginners will learn the violin fundamentals to start playing the violin strong and confidently. They will learn how to hold the violin and bow, how to pluck, how to play the violin with the bow, how to use their fingers to produce notes (fingerings) and how to play fun and easy songs, like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Hot Cross Buns! 

We will also cover over how the violin is tuned, how to take care of the violin, and some basic music theory - like note names and rhythms. 
Practice time: 10-15 minutes Daily Practice

🎻An appropriate sized violin. If you are struggling to find an instrument, please let me know. 🎻A shoulder rest or sponge is recommended for comfort and ease of playing. Students will be assessed each week on their progress through recordings and worksheets - informal

Students will be formally assessed by final performance and given positive and constructive feedback to improve

Video responses should be sent in by Sunday of the Current Week by 12 p.m. Eastern to receive a timely response.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
