In this one-time course, students will become familiar with their ukulele instrument (terms, playing techniques, etc.), and learn how to play the 4 basic ukulele chords and 1 or 2 simple songs.

Class experience

Students will learn correct music terms (frets, chords, strumming, tuning, etc.), identify the different parts of our instruments (strings, body, bridge, fret board, neck, etc.), and how to tune our instruments [student will bring their own tuners to class]. Then we will also learn the 4 primary chords [Am, G, F, C], and end by playing 1 or 2 simple songs.

-Ukulele (Note: The teacher uses a "soprano" ukulele, but any real ukulele instrument will be acceptable. However, please note that the tone/pitch of the student instrument may be slightly different than that of the teacher if it is a different model.) -Ukulele Tuner (app version or physical device is recommended)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

The student may also want to watch YouTube tutorial videos as review or extra practice on the topics and techniques that we learn in class.
