In this ongoing music club class, students will improve their ukulele musical ability while playing easy songs and learning music appreciation facts in a fun and friendly environment where each week/class features its own musical theme.
Class Experience
Students with basic knowledge and experience with playing the ukulele will learn how to play more advanced chords, mixed or complex strumming techniques, while performing popular songs on the ukulele instrument. Relevant musical appreciation facts will also be taught to give the student a better understanding of the artist or song being featured (example: The song "Hound Dog" by Elvis was his first big hit and helped to launch his career into superstardom.) - Students will learn and improve upon their musical ability while memorizing chords and strumming techniques in a fun and friendly environment. As this is an ongoing course, the learning objectives will NOT build upon previous weeks' course material.

*Ukulele (Note: The teacher uses a "soprano" ukulele, but any real ukulele instrument will be acceptable. However, please note that the tone/pitch of the student instrument may be slightly different than that of the teacher.) *Ukulele Tuner (digital device or app version)
All songs and music featured in the course will be "clean" and strictly child-appropriate (PG) in content and theme.
If you do not have a physical/digital tuner device for your instrument, a ukulele tuner app is highly beneficial (and free). I use one simply called "ukulele tuner" from the Apple store; it has a mint green background and over-sized white letters that spell "uku-lele". They can also purchase a small, clip-on tuner from Amazon or their local music store/department.
