No previous experience playing ukulele is required.

Because this is a one on one class, I will individualize the lesson to the unique student. We will learn some fun songs that they can learn step by step. This is a relaxed, casual class, with a focus on the student.

They will learn basic techniques and be able to play some songs. If they enjoy singing, we can do some songs that they can learn to sing along with. If they prefer to play and not sing, that is fine too.

I will also send a link to the parent for Uke Buddy online tuner, so you can have the instrument tuned ahead of time.

I love seeing the learner light up, when they are able to play a song. I value each student and believe in music as a way of increasing confidence and self esteem.

The student will learn to play a few songs that they will have fun showing off.
They will learn how to read ukelule tablature, so that they will understand the song sheets and be able to play them on their own.

This is a participation class, so the student will do a lot of hands on playing during the class.
My teaching style is relaxed , fun and casual, with a focus on learning.
I individualize my lessons to each unique learner, based on their learning style and musical interests.

The student is welcome to suggest a song that they would like to learn in a future lesson. I try to accommodate requests for specific styles and songs.
Learning Goals
The student will be able to play a couple of songs on their own.
They will get a feel for steady beat and how to play with a steady tempo.
The student will learn any musical notation or musical concepts that apply to the particular songs we are working on for that class.
The student will learn how to read ukelele tablature.
If the student has taken this class before, then we will move on to more advanced tablature , and move onto chord diagrams.
If the student has taken this class a couple of times before, then we will move onto playing and strumming chords, as well as singing along with the songs, if they want to sing.
