This ESL-friendly class offers 8 one-on-one reading help sessions for students who love cats and nature! Together, we will read original stories about Pumpkin and Marigold the Cats. These two curious cats with big personalities have many adventures. They discover interesting things about nature as they make new animal friends. We will first review important vocabulary words, checking for pronunciation and understanding. We will read the story together, getting vital reading practice, and pausing to practice difficult phonics and words. With each story we finish, we will complete a story map to practice skills for remembering and understanding what was read. After each story, we will have a step-by-step drawing session where we will draw an animal from the story. Each story will likely take two sessions to complete. *Let me know what day and time work best for your family and I will create that section for you. *Each week will follow the same format. Learners can pick from several Pumpkin and Marigold stories. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Minnesota State University, a Minnesota teaching license, and a 160 hour TEFL certification.
I have been teaching and guiding children since 2000 as a preschool/childcare provider, an ELA teacher in public school classrooms, and an ESL teacher in online classrooms.

When my three daughters are home from college we love going for hikes, cooking together, and of course, snuggling our two funny cats, Pumpkin and Marigold.
