The student will upload a project about the theme of the unit at the end of each unit. It will not be graded, but it would be beneficial for the learner to work on it throughout the class.Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 5
Beginning each week, the student will read one book from Magic Tree House or Time Warp Trio series. During the week, the student will independently complete their own Minecraft build for class to reinforce their reading comprehension of that week's reading. The student will create a build that reflects on that week’s reading (example: a historical monument). Additionally, the student will play a game or two to reinforce that week's read. I will post clips of example builds, explain what the learner have the possibility of creating, as well as give thoughtful information about the books each week. This information can include games, like Kahoot, or it can include questions in the classroom like "which aspect of the book most caught your eye - discuss why this was." Through the classroom's image posting option, the student will be able to show images of what they built during class. The student is welcome to use any platform they have access to and will be building their Minecraft build on their own. The student can use the option of uploading a short video if they are on a computer or a screenshot of the completed build needs to be taken and uploaded to the device being used to sign in for this class. If the student is using a platform that is played on a handheld device (like an iPad or Nintendo Switch), they are more than welcome to just take a picture of the screen and post it to class as well.
Learning Goals
The student will develop knowledge of 6 different periods in time or historical persons. The student will also expand their creativity.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach unit studies, gameschooling, and life skills. I have extensive knowledge on how to work with special needs or special "abilities" persons who learn outside of the box due to my own life journey and the adventure of parenting special abilities' children.
My professional background is in social work since 1982. I have worked as a preschool teacher. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialties in mental health, substance abuse, and geriatrics. I have worked with ages 2-101 years old. I have homeschooled since 2002.
I value each person's individuality. I love to help others find their strengths and support. My teaching is eclectic, just like each person is. The definition of eclectic is "selecting or made up of what seems best of varied sources." The.key word in that definition is "best." I want to bring out the "best" in each student.
While homeschooling my children, I found "gameschooling." Gameschooling is the joy of using games to reinforce educational subjects. I absolutely love playing board games, card games and dice games. I have over 300 games in my home and growing.
