US Grade 2 - 5
We will cover the following habitats: Ocean Grassland Desert Mountain Forest Freshwater and Caves Polar Rainforest Each class will have a discussion regarding a different habitat. We will talk about the biomes and the animals that live in that particular environment via a lecture posted each week for each biome. The teacher will provide a list of books from the Magic Tree House series and/or Andrew Lost series for the student to read and reinforce that week's habitat discussion which can be read and discussed in the classroom throughout the week. Additionally, the student will independently complete their own Minecraft build per week to show off what they learned during class. The student will get to share their build at the end of each week in a classroom post. Upon showing their habitat build, the student will reinforce their knowledge of that specific habitat. Through the image posting classroom option, students will be able to show images of what they built during class. Students are welcome to use any platform they have access to and will be building their habitat on their own. Students can use the image share option if they are on a computer and a screenshot or screenshots of the completed build needs to be taken and uploaded to the device being used to sign in for this class and posted to the classroom. If students are using a platform that is played on a handheld device (like an iPad or Nintendo Switch), they are more than welcome to just take a picture of the screen for the class to see. Each week, there will be a fun game to reinforce that week's habitat (word search, Mad Lib, etc.).
Learning Goals
Students will be able list off eight different habitats and their features. Students will also expand their creativity.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach unit studies, gameschooling, and life skills. I have extensive knowledge on how to work with special needs or special "abilities" persons who learn outside of the box due to my own life journey and the adventure of parenting special abilities' children.
My professional background is in social work since 1982. I have worked as a preschool teacher. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with specialties in mental health, substance abuse, and geriatrics. I have worked with ages 2-101 years old. I have homeschooled since 2002.
I value each person's individuality. I love to help others find their strengths and support. My teaching is eclectic, just like each person is. The definition of eclectic is "selecting or made up of what seems best of varied sources." The.key word in that definition is "best." I want to bring out the "best" in each student.
While homeschooling my children, I found "gameschooling." Gameschooling is the joy of using games to reinforce educational subjects. I absolutely love playing board games, card games and dice games. I have over 300 games in my home and growing.
