Welcome to Mel's History Hub's 'This Week in History'!

Each week, we will look at events, people, inventions, and moments that defined history that occurred in that week. Students of all knowledge levels are welcome as I will provide background information on each week's topics. We explore interesting, unique, and bizarre things from history. Students will learn and be able to share exciting details of history that they learned from each week.
Students will learn about particular people, events, inventions, and moments that defined history and understand their significance and impact.

I have an undergraduate degree in History and I am a certified teacher with qualifications to teach intermediate and senior divisions of History. All of the class content will be researched information that is from factual reliable sources accompanied by my extensive knowledge on these subjects.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Kahoot

We will be discussing various topics of history. The material presented with be monitored for age-appropriate but we will occasionally be discussing violent conflicts that have occurred in history. There will be no graphic images, videos, or specific information shared with the students.

This class will also use Kahoot. It is an online trivia game. Students will be sent a link through Zoom chat during class time. They will click on the link to take them directly to the game where they will enter their first name or nickname. No apps need to be downloaded and no personal information will be shared.

* A variety of resources will be used each week depending on the topic. Only sources deemed trustworthy and credible will be used.
