History Time Travel, Books & Minecraft: Ancient Times and Vikings (Self Paced)

Beginning each week, the student will read one book from Magic Tree House or Time Warp Trio series. During the week, the student will independently complete their own Minecraft build for class to reinforce their reading comprehension of that week's reading. The student will create a build that reflects on that week’s reading (example: a historical monument). Additionally, we will play a game or two to reinforce that week's read.

I will post clips of example builds, explain what the learner have the possibility of creating, as well as give thoughtful information about the books each week. This information can include games, like Kahoot, or it can include questions in the classroom like "which aspect of the book most caught your eye - discuss why this was."

Through the classroom's image posting option, the student will be able to show images of what they built during class.  The student is welcome to use any platform they have access to and will be building their Minecraft build on their own.  The student can use the option of uploading a short video if they are on a computer or a screenshot of the completed build needs to be taken and uploaded to the device being used to sign in for this class.  If the student is using a platform that is played on a handheld device (like an iPad or Nintendo Switch), they are more than welcome to just take a picture of the screen and post it to class as well.
