In this 8-week summer class, learners will embark on an exciting journey to strengthen their growth mindset. Through lively skits, task cards, and activities, participants will delve into understanding the brain, embracing mistakes, and fostering positive self-talk. They'll also explore the power of positive feedback, overcoming challenges, and adopting the mindset of "can't yet." With a focus on developing crucial life skills, this class empowers learners to tackle obstacles with confidence and resilience. Join us for an unforgettable summer of personal growth and development! 📌How is the class structured? The class is structured into three parts: skit, task cards, and an activity centered around the growth mindset concept. 📌How will I teach? I will teach using a variety of interactive methods, including: Skits: Learners will engage in role-playing scenarios to illustrate growth mindset concepts in action. Task cards: Learners will complete tasks related to the topics covered, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Activities: Interactive exercises will be incorporated to reinforce learning objectives and encourage collaboration among participants. 📌What's the teaching style? My teaching style is dynamic and adaptable. I aim to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where participants feel comfortable expressing their ideas and opinions. I’m Teacher Jennifer, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to inspire and guide your learner on their educational journey. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education PreK-6 and a Master's degree in Special Education, alongside 12 years of teaching experience, I’ve passionately dedicated myself to nurturing young minds in both general and special education settings. With two years molding second graders, nine years shaping fifth graders, and now teaching sixth graders, my expertise spans a wide spectrum, ensuring every student's unique needs are met.
Beyond the traditional classroom, I've expanded my horizons with a TEFL certification, enriching the lives of children worldwide through the art of English language instruction. Teaching isn't just a profession for me; it's my calling, my passion.
I provide a diverse range of educational classes encompassing grammar, reading, writing, word study, and comprehensive private tutoring across all subject areas. Additionally, I am deeply committed to instilling a growth mindset and offer specialized courses in this domain. Central to my teaching philosophy is the belief that every classroom should serve as a safe, nurturing environment where all learners feel empowered to express themselves and thrive. With seven half marathons under my belt and a penchant for the exhilarating, like my past skydiving adventure, I'm always seeking new thrills.
