✋ Hello Outschool Families! 🤚 Thank you for taking the time to check out 'Multi-Day Elementary ELA Skills.' ⭐︎What will be taught? In this 12-week class, learners will explore a well-structured curriculum designed to enhance elementary English Language Arts (ELA) skills. Emphasis will be placed on developing reading proficiency, comprehension, expanding vocabulary, grammar, and mastering effective writing techniques. ⭐︎ Class Structure: The weekly schedule is divided into two days. On day one, the week's reading genre is introduced, along with literal reading comprehension skills, exposure to new vocabulary, and a grammar lesson. On day two, learners revisit the text, explore a deeper comprehension strategy, and engage in a writing activity prompted by the material. ⭐︎Teaching Approach: Each session will involve an interactive presentation using Google Slides. Learners actively participate by matching, drawing, dissecting, and writing about the concepts covered. Lessons are structured around demonstrations, prompts, and individual practice to ensure sustained engagement with the material. ⭐︎Teaching Style: The teaching style is characterized by a blend of fun, engagement, interactivity, and thought-provoking activities. The goal is to create an enjoyable and enriching learning experience. ⭐︎Interaction with Learners and Peers: Daily interaction with both content and peers is encouraged. Games and interactive slides are incorporated to promote engagement. Learners will have opportunities for discussion, collaborative activities, and participation in various interactive elements throughout each session. ⭐︎Additional Practice Outside of Class: Each week, two additional practice sheets will be shared: one to practice the grammar concept taught and the other to reinforce a reading comprehension strategy introduced in class.
Learning Goals
1: Analyze and comprehend complex texts, both fiction and nonfiction by identifying main ideas, details, and key concepts.
2: Utilize various reading strategies, such as asking and answering questions, drawing conclusions, and making inferences, to deepen understanding.
