Average rating:4.9Number of reviews:(31)
Students will watch a weekly horror film and analyze it in class during a fun discussion that will incorporate different elements of critical thought.

Class experience

Students will learn how to refine and hone their analytical and critical thinking skills and create a skillset of critical thought that will be applicable to multiple disciplines.
I have an undergraduate degree in English & Allied Language Arts, as well as a Master's degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English and a doctorate in higher education, which gives me the relevant training and experience to teach the topic of critical thinking and film to older learners. In addition, I have a minor in Folk Studies and have taken graduate courses in Folk Studies, which gives me the experience and background to discuss the analysis of pop culture, film, and television from a cultural perspective.
Homework Offered
Students will need to watch the movies and take notes for each screening outside of class. Total work required outside of class should not take more than three hours. Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas and discussion points to class.
