Fun hands-on science experiments with food!

Class experience

Students will learn the phases of the moon, whether objects sink or float, what paleontologist do and the three states of matter by completing fun hands-on science experiments with food.  
I’m a compassionate teacher who loves to teach! I have taught Kindergarten for 6 years and I’ve worked in public and private schools for the past 11 years. I have a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I’m certified to teach Elementary education in California and Washington states. I absolutely love teaching Science, and these lessons are my absolute favorite to teach! I have taught these Science lesson in private and public schools for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I’m looking forward to sharing this fun science class with your wonderful little scientist! 
Week 1: Oreo Moon Phases
The Phases of the Moon Worksheet (Provided by the teacher)  
1 standard size Oreo Cookie package 
1 bottle of liquid glue 
1 paper plate
1 plastic knife 
1 plastic spoon 

Week 2: Cookie Fossil Dig 
Fossil Dig Worksheets (Provided by the teacher)  
1 pencil
1 pack of crayons 
1 standard pack of Chocolate Chip Cookies 
1 small box of toothpicks 
1 small paintbrush 
1 paper plate or paper towel to keep your work area clean 

Week 3: The Three States of Matter with Root Beer Floats
The States of Matter Worksheet (Provided by the teacher)  
1 pencil
1 box of crayons
1 clear plastic cup
1 bottle of Root Beer
1 container of vanilla ice cream 
1 spoon 
  
Week 4: Hot Cocoa Sink or Float Experiment 
Hot Cocoa Sink or Float Experiment Worksheet (Provided by the teacher)  
1 clear 18 oz plastic cup
1 plastic spoon 
hot water or hot milk for hot cocoa 
1 hot cocoa packet 
marshmallows
chocolate chips
sprinkles
mini candy canes or peppermints 
whipped cream 
1 pencil
1 pack of crayons 
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental guidance may be needed depending on student’s age and abilities.
