1-2 hours per week. Students will be encouraged to spend time each day practicing and to send at least one video per week of them playing a song or showing what they're practicing.Class Experience
In this class, students will learn about research-backed practice and performance strategies in a weekly asynchronous video. They will be given a weekly challenge and will be encouraged to submit at least one practice or performance video each week (only the teacher will see this). For a more intensive and interactive experience, students can submit up to one video every day. To get the most out of this class, make sure your learner has an accessible way to record their playing. Take advantage of the option to record something each day, if possible. It doesn't have to be perfect recording--self recording is an important practice strategy in itself, and they will receive tips and tricks on things they might be struggling with. This course is designed to accommodate diverse schedules and time zones, so students can record videos on their own time and submit them at their convenience. They can expect a response within 24 hours. Some topics that will be covered in the weekly videos: -How to build a solid practice schedule -Lesser-known practice strategies -How to make your practicing stick -Giving a great performance My teaching style in the videos will focus on making the information fun, interesting, and accessible to learners of various ages and backgrounds.
