In this class, students will get to know fellow string players as they learn to practice and perform effectively. We will have regular Performance Classes, where they will get to put their skills to the test and perform for the group!
Class experience
When students are learning an instrument, it helps to have regular performance goals to work towards and a small community to support and encourage them. In this class, we will learn about effective practice strategies, how to perform at your best, and other string related topics as we practice performing for each other! Students will gain performance experience, learn about effective practice, get practice talking about music, and experience giving and receiving kind, constructive feedback.
Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance- Louisiana State University, 2023 Master of Music in Cello Performance- Longy School of Music of Bard College, 2020 Bachelor of Arts in Music- Southern Virginia University, 2017 I have also taught private cello and violin lessons, as well as participated in numerous string studio performance classes giving feedback to all string instruments.
Homework Offered
Students will be expected to practice and prepare for their performances outside of class time.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
