1-2 hours per week. Practicing will be recommended for all students. Actual amounts will vary based on the level of the player.Class Experience
In this semi-private lesson, we’ll have a great time making all kinds of great cello music together! We’ll focus on developing a solid sense of rhythm, intonation, and musicality while learning and playing enjoyable music. Each learner will receive individual attention for a portion of the class, and students can learn from seeing others play and receive feedback. We’ll spend the first lesson getting to know about each other, talking about their musical background, what music they’ve been working on (if anything), what kind of music they would like to play, and set some specific goals to work towards. If they’re an experienced player, I’ll have them play a scale or song that they already know so we can start getting to work! Students will progress most quickly if they are able to spend at least a little time practicing each week between lessons (ideally every day!) so they can apply the things they learn and start working on their music. Here are examples of what we might discuss: Week of 1/20: Practice techniques Week of 1/27: Intonation Week of 2/3: Rhythm Week of 2/10: Musicality I’m looking forward to seeing your students in class!
