Class Experience
Who was Robert Frost? Why is he so well known for his use of vivid imagery? How do his poems celebrate both nature and the human experience? In this class, students will be introduced to the poet Robert Frost, learn the term "imagery," and apply it to the vivid natural images in "Spring Pools." We will also read Du Fu's (one of the two most important poets of the Tang Dynasty) poem "Night in the Imperial Chancellery" for comparison. Before class is over, the students will write their own...
Students will be able to identify sensory imagery and the purpose of its use in these two poems. They will then be able to use sensory imagery in their own poems.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
