Class Experience
In this 4 week course, students will learn different elements of poetry through writing about nature. We will cover concepts such as rhyme, alliteration, personification, simile, and metaphor, as well as forms such as couplets, limerick, sense-based poetry, haiku, and free verse/prose. Each week, students will be introduced to examples of poetry, participate in a short writing exercise, and share their work with the class. This class is taught in English.
- basic literary concepts (rhyme, alliteration, metaphor) - basic poetry form (couplets, prose, haiku, etc.) - writing prompts and revision - exploration of sense bound writing - how to tune into the natural world!

Students will have an optional writing project each week. It could take anywhere from 20 minutes to a few hours, depending on how long the student wishes their poem to be.

No formal grades or assessments. Teacher will offer weekly feedback to poets wishing to share in class or outside of class.
