Throughout the class, I will have artists share their work with me to see their progress and ask questions as they arise.Class Experience
Our drawing, painting, and printing art projects will celebrate this is a great time of year and rejoice at the changing weather and colors we see all around us! We will use vibrant floral and natural designs. After brief introductions and check-in for all the supplies needed, we will get right to work! We will use different combinations of art media to create 3 beautiful spring compositions, including watercolors, markers, chalk pastels, and acrylics paints! Artists will learn new techniques that can be used for future projects throughout the year encompassing many elements of art like line, shape, color, texture, value as well as design principles such as balance, pattern, and variety. I will demonstrate everything on my art cam, as well as have a completed example of everything to show the students. I will encourage respectful conversation and questions along the way and I will check in with everyone as steps are completed to ensure that they are understanding the process. Grab your supplies, and a fruity snack, and meet me in the studio! 1st project: Watercolors, floral designs 2nd Project: Soft/Chalk pastels, architecture 3rd Project: Acrylic/Tempera paints, Monoprinting with Ziploc bags- fruits Please reach out to me if you are having any trouble getting the supplies as these projects are based specifically on the supplies listed. Please note that this is a one-day workshop format based off of my 3-day camp so similar projects will be taught.
Learning Goals
My goal is for artists to have fun creating spring-themed, colorful artwork using simple supplies and to learn new techniques they can experiment with on their own.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from UCLA
I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in visual arts. I have taught K-12 graders for the last 15 years in a variety of subjects, including a monthly art program that focused on art elements and the art masters. I have been teaching art classes on Outschool for almost 2 years in a variety of painting, drawing and mixed-media classes. I enjoy teaching simple concepts that allow my students to experiment, explore and express themselves in new ways. I love discovering how one technique can have unexpected results and even be used in new ways. Sharing these colorful ideas with young artists makes the process even more exciting- I often learn from them as well!
