Description

Class Experience

My goal is for artists to have fun learning how to create colorful artwork using simple supplies they may already have and to continue to experiment on their own.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and have enjoyed working with vibrant colors through markers, paints, and chalk pastels. My personal style is more abstract, graphic, and even impressionistic and this is reflected in my own artwork over the years. I worked with young learners for several years when I was in charge of a volunteer- lead art program that focused on art elements and the art masters. We did many different types of projects and used different media and techniques each month. Sharing these colorful and simple ideas with young artists is exciting and I often learn from them as well as they share their ideas and express themselves in new ways.
There’s no specific homework, but artists may want to continue creating and experimenting with the supplies to make additional masterpieces!
- Mixed media/art paper – 2 pieces- please make sure this paper can hold up to water and paint – printer paper will not work - Pencil and eraser - Black Sharpie marker (permanent ink) - Watercolors - Other ink markers like Crayola or Mr Sketch - White oil pastel - Old towel or wash, cloth or paper towels - A cup of water and brushes
Throughout the class, I will have artists share their work with me to see their progress and ask questions as they arise.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
